The week of June 25, nearly 60 children and adult volunteers stretched their wings and took a flight of faith at Grace Lutheran’s 2012 Vacation Bible School: “SKY”
Laura Boyd, director of the VBS program, writes:
Thank you to all of you who gave your time, energy, money and abilities to make our SKY VBS a huge success!! I could literally feel Jesus at work throughout the week, breathing new life into our church body. I feel blessed to have been a part of it. I want to keep that energy going. Jesus gave me the idea of VBS 365, which is a program that will keep the VBS kids coming back throughout the year and possibly even result in new members to Grace. I can’t say that I know for sure what God has planned for VBS 365, but I know that it definitely has restoration possibilities.
VBS 365 will be held Sunday mornings in place of Sunday School several times during the school year. The first VBS 365 Super Sunday is September 2, 2012. I plan to set up a mini VBS version, with a snack, games, bible story and craft station. Although I could possibly coordinate and facilitate a VBS 365 Sunday by myself, it would be a lot more effective if others would help. I’d also like to give the ever faithful Sunday school teachers a break by recruiting new people to help. You don’t have to be a teacher or be well versed on Bible stories to help with this. I’ll have all materials prepared for you. Your job would be to just let Jesus do his work through you.
I have a website set up for VBS 365, but it’s a work in progress. Keep checking back for updates. www.gracelutheranvbs365.org
Sincerely and gratefully,
